Griselda Mussett
I’m planning my new show now – opening on Thursday 12 November and running through two weekends to Sunday 22nd. It will be in the summerhouse again, with direct access from the street through the garden, strictly by appointment to maintain social distance. Let’s hope the lockdown measures don’t bring all this to a grinding halt!
All the work will be new – done since the start of the lockdown, and very different in many ways from earlier work. I am so much more interested in abstract painting now – where you can’t necessarily see straight away what the work is ‘about’.
It’s much more about story-telling, and feelings, very suitable for these strange times, when everything is changing and we recognise how uncertain and precarious things can be. So I am looking forward to sharing some of the stories behind these works, to see if they ring true for you too.
There are pure abstracts, landscapes, some interiors, local scenes…. Some are on paper, some on board or canvas, and something to suit every home. An original work of art can bring pleasure for a lifetime, and there’s something to suit every budget.
One very exciting thing is that I am bringing out a little art-book with 28 unique images all depicting one beautiful old tree. It describes a love-affair I have been having with this amazing tree over several years. That will also be available for sale of course and would be an unusual and pleasing Christmas present for yourself or a loved one, a little record of a tiny corner of Faversham.
I look forward to seeing you – showing you what I’ve been doing, what has kept me sane and creative these last 8 months or so. So much learned, and so much created. It really is very exciting. Just ask for an appointment.
